Trust and Faithfulness

"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." Galatians 3:16

In Paul's brilliant defense of the truths of the Gospel to a church tragically falling into a legalistic system, Paul uses the argument that Christ is the only heir to the promises of Abraham. In Galatians 3:16 he states that the promise was to Abraham's seed not seeds. He clearly states that the promises are not to many but to one--even Jesus Christ. Oh! That we would hear the voice of the Lord in this. We are over-comers not by our pathetic works of righteousness. We are written into the will of God's promises by being in Christ. "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:29

All you need today, you already have by faith in the one true heir. Do you need deliverance? Is there a prayer you need answered? Do you want your relationship with God to grow? Do you need help in trusting God in these uncertain times? The heir of all things has the answer already--only trust Him.

The enemy, of course, doesn't want you to see the simplicity of faith. His plan is to get you to focus on your works and then bind you in an endless cycle of guilt that never overcomes in Christ. When we don't receive because we are trying to merit it--he tells us that it is because God doesn't love us, we are too sinful, or some other excuse meant to bind us. His plan is simple. He simply wants you to be ineffective in all you do for the Lord.

By not exercising faith in the work of our Savior, we tend to try to show the Lord how we can serve Him without His assistance. That is why Paul started this discourse on the heir by using a series of pointed questions. "This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." Galatians 3:3-7

So what have you received from God for all the "good" you've done? Nothing!
What have you received by simple, child-like faith--everything!
Trust Him today!

Escape From Gaza

Here is a good story about a Jewish mother married to an Arab in Gaza. I thought you might like to read it.

Watching and Praying!

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." Luke 21:34-36

Jesus' message is clear here! Pay attention to the world around you and the condition of your heart. It is clear that worldly lusts and pleasures are one of the devices the enemy uses to make churches and individual believers ineffective and blinded to the signs of the coming of the Lord. As a result, there will be the tendency to follow after the things the world offers with little effort spent on drawing nearer to Jesus. It is for this reason that Jesus called us to watch and pray. Remember, true deception only works when things around us seem normal. A hunter knows that he must blend in to the surroundings or his prey will not feel comfortable enough to come to him. A trapper must set the snare on the trail in a way that does not arouse suspicion. Satan must attack us while going to great effort to make sure we do not perceive the attack. Be sober! Be vigilant! Jesus is coming and the enemy is redoubling his efforts to make sure we don't recognize the season of His return.

Please pray for the desperate situation in Haiti.

The Countdown?

I found this great article on the Jerusalem Post Christian World section. It is a good synopsis about the last days of this current age and the beginning of the true new age, Christ's reign. I thought you might like to see it.
