Pray For The Prince of Peace
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psalm 122:6
Many have questioned why a Christian should be so concerned with the city of Jerusalem or for Jewish people for that matter? So why should we pray for the Jewish people and their capital city? The devil knows this answer. God has many covenant promises that are yet to be fulfilled to this people. The Messiah Jesus will one day return to this long estranged group and restore them to His purposes. Satan has tried to destroy this people many times in the church age, and unfortunately, he even used uninformed "Christians" to do his dirty work. He wants to rid the world of this people as a way of hurting God and in an attempt to make God unable to keep His promises. The Lord's character is tied to these promises. Of course, God takes the very darts of the enemy and uses them for His divine purpose. No one, not even the devil, ever outsmarts the Omniscient One!
Jerusalem and the Jews are God's prophetic time clock for the last days. This clock began to tick as soon as the Zionist movement, coincidentally started by a Christian preacher, William Blackstone, was underway. It began to tick louder in 1917 as the city of Jerusalem was freed from the domination of the Ottoman Turks. This loud clock began to scream in 1948 when the nation of Israel was born in a day as prophesied. Each day shows us that we are closer to the ultimate showdown for the city. Why does Satan want to control Jerusalem. Maybe he is deluded enough to think that controlling the city will keep the event from happening. What event? The return of Jesus Christ and the triumphal entry through the sealed Eastern Gate. The Muslims are so worried about that event that there is a trash dump and graveyard in front of the sealed gate since no Jew could defile themself by walking through these "barriers".
When a Christian prays for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of the Jewish nation, it is the same thing as praying, " Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" It is the prayer for the soon coming Prince of Peace. Have you prayed for Jerusalem today? There is more trouble there and much more on the way. Pray for Jerusalem, the city of the Great King!

Today's Prophetic Headlines
The fall of the US and the rise of a New World Order will soon come about. We can clearly see that our own President is rushing this along. In order to do this, it is important that the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press that we have so long enjoyed under a government and that was founded on the very heart of Judeo-Christian concepts must be stripped from us. We have already seen that the passage of the "hate crimes" bill seems inevitable. Now we are seeing the direct assault of the freedom of the press from the very executive branch that has sworn to protect that right. This attack on the FOX News Channel should bring fear to all Americans whether you like the station or not. This is an apparent breech of the office this President and the Constitution that he was sworn to serve and defend against all enemies both foreign and domestic. Also, when the White House endorses another news source as legitimate, it is that same as saying that Buddhism is only true religion, is it not?

Most coins have the image of some important person that is imprinted on them. In Jesus' day it was Caesar. We too are to have the image of the King imprinted on our lives. However, are we so carnal that we are lost to the influence of the Holy Spirit? God has a very real plan an purpose for your life. He wants to invest and spend you this day in kingdom work. He wants to circulate you in the community where you are to be a witness of the Savior.
Sadly, when He illuminates this truth, we tend to resist. We don't heed the candle of the word and so we find ourselves in about the meaningless tasks of this world rather than shine Christ's redemption like the silver coin alludes to.
The best thing to do then is to pay attention to the word, listen to the Spirit, and allow the sweeping away of the dust and corruption of sin so that we are found useful in Christ's heavenly economy. There is nothing worse than a Christian that is lost to the influence of the presence of God and His Word!
