The Last Trump--Part 2

Do patterns matter to God? This is an unusual question, but it answers the phenomena found with the crucifixion and the first four feasts of the Old Testament. Furthermore, it relates to our study of Paul's statement about the last trump found in 1 Corinthians 15:52. If you return to some of the earlier articles about types and shadows in this blog, you will clearly see that patterns are of great importance to God. Let's investigate one other pattern briefly. It is the pattern that will establish why there is such a long gap between Jesus' first coming and His second.

From the time of Abraham to the time of the Exodus was 505 years. Near the beginning of this stretch of years Abraham lived with Ismael at his side for 15 years. If we subtract the 15 years from the time of 505 years due to the unbelief caused by Ishmael, it would leave us with a span of 490 years. Of the following sets of numbers, this one is the hardest to establish. Yet, the pattern of God putting Israel on a 490 year clock and stopping it during unbelief is begun here.

From the Exodus to the building of Solomon's temple spanned 601 years. If we look carefully at the book of Judges and count the amount of time that the Israelites were given over to their enemies for unbelief we find that it is 111 years. 601 years-111 years is again 490 years. The clock stopped again due to unbelief.

The Babylonian Captivity marks the next crucial event in Israel's history. We know that it lasted 70 years and that during this time the temple was destroyed. The time from Solomon's Temple to the edict to rebuild the temple was 560 years. Again 560-70=490. Their captivity time was subtracted from God's prophetic clock.

Look at Daniel's amazing prophecy. Some have called this the greatest prophecy ever given. It is found in Daniel 9:24-27. For space reasons, I will not post it. Verses 25 and 26 inform us that the Messiah appears 69 weeks of years after the edict to restore and rebuild the temple. 69 x 7 = 483 years. After this He will be cut off (crucified) for others, and those who killed Him will destroy the city which happened in 70 AD. Then amazingly the sacrifices are still going on in verse 27 and a covenant is made for that last seven years. How could there be sacrifices that are caused to cease if the temple was destroyed? More on this at another post--just know that this is the seven years tribulation.

The Jewish people's calendar is a 360 day lunar calendar (this is also an important point to remember in a later post). The edict to rebuild and restore was given in 444 BC on March 5th. According to our calendar, 483 years later would be 33 AD when adjusted for zero year. It becomes astounding when we calculate the days in 483 lunar years. 483 x 360 = 173,880. Exactly 173,880 days from the above mentioned edict was March 30, 33 AD. It was on this day that a lowly carpenter named Yeshua in Hebrew rode into Jerusalem on a donkey as the masses shouted, "Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord."

We will find out why this is important and how it relates to the last trump on the next few posts. Just know that God was imputing prophetic stoppages of the clock as it related to Israel since Abraham. The final countdown to the 490 prophetic years will begin when the beast makes a peace treaty with the Jewish nation. I wonder how the NT John and the OT Zechariah knew that the peace process would dominate the news just before this time? :)

The Last Trump

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
 1 Corinthians 15:52

Yom Teru'ah or Rosh Hashanah is quickly approaching. If God does as He has always done, then this feast is a shadow of the ministry of Christ in some form. It is not hard to see that the ministry of Jesus has revolved around the feasts. The first four feasts are held around March or April. Christians held Resurrection Sunday to coincide with the Passover season until the unfortunate corruption after the church was the recognized religion of the Roman Empire. As a result, many have not realized the significance of these days and Christ's ministry. (It is better to get away from this now before I ramble on about the terrible name of Easter {Ashteroth, Ishtar, Asherah, or Astarte} and its pagan origins. As compromise crushed Israel--it also crushed the powerful testimony of the Church.) After a long pause, around four months, the last three feasts are conducted. Could the spacing be a hint to a long pause, 2,000 years, between the first fulfillment and the second fulfillment?

Jesus was crucified on Passover as He was the Great Lamb that carries away our sin. The blood on the door posts as Moses commanded even formed the shape of a cross (as does the furniture in the tabernacle when traced over their setting in the sanctuary) and the blood reminds us of three crosses on a hill. He was buried just in time for the start of the Feast of Unleavened Bread which speaks of the sinlessness of His life and much more that is beside our purpose today. He arose on First Fruits and this is why Paul in this same chapter mentioned, "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20). Also, the "first fruits" of believers before the cross were carried to heaven from Abraham's Bosom or Paradise. Matthew 27:52-53 tells this story, "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many."

Pentecost followed 50 days after First Fruits. On this day the Jews celebrate the giving of the Torah to Moses. It was the beginning of the covenant between God and the children of Israel. It was conducted as a marriage ceremony in many ways, but did you know that there are many parallels to the Day of Pentecost as recorded in Acts and the day God gave the law? God spoke to Israel in many languages at the mountain and the believers spoke in many languages in the upper room. 3,000 were killed as they failed to revere God's holiness, but on the Churches birthday 3,000 were saved for seeking His holiness. Fire covered the mountain and tongues of fire appeared over every believer. There are many others but it will spoil your own personal study of Exodus 19-20 and Acts 2.

So what does Rosh Hashanah point to? First, it has been a long standing Jewish tradition that the dead will rise on this day. It is customary to greet each other with the saying, "May you be inscribed in the Book of Life for a good year." Also, after a series of three other trumpet sounds throughout the day (100 trumpet blasts are blown) the last sound is called the "Last Trump". More on this later.

The Spirit of Antichrist

Here is some great teaching on a coming religious leader, the Mahdi, from the President of Iran, Ahmadinejad. What a Joke!

The Bible gives no room for any other savior other than Jesus Christ. Jesus is very clear when He stated, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 there is no way around this concept and Jesus made that abundantly clear. Here is another verse just to confirm it, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

All false teaching about Jesus usually stems from the same sort of arguments like: He failed at His purpose, He was a great teacher but not deity, He channeled cosmic energy that is accessible to us all, and a whole host of other lies!

Islam chooses the first two. He was just a prophet and Christians misunderstood His message and so God sent another messenger. Also, He is not God's son. Here are some verses from the lie they use to confirm this.

"They say: "the most gracious has betaken a son!" Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous! At it in the skies are about to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin, that they attributed a son to the Most Gracious, for it is not consonant with the majesty of the Most Gracious that he should beget a son. (The Qur'an, 5:88-92).

Also, they teach that the crucifixion is a hoax and that He was never crucified. "That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): 'We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them." An-Nissa 4:156-159

Yet John the Apostle, who started a letter stating the fact that he walked with Jesus and saw Him crucified stated, " Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:22-23

Who will you believe? Those who say that they are a religion of peace but have killed 327 people as part of 80 terrorist attacks in the first 13 days of the fast of Ramadan? (The religion of peace)

Or the Son of God, Himself?
