Preparations For The False Prophet

"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live."  
Revelation 13:11-14


 It seems that it is getting easier to see many aspects of the Tribulation period upon us.  Jerusalem is quickly turning into a burdensome stone.  Israel is back in its land as predicted.  The economy appears to be on the brink of a meltdown that will lead to a universal monetary system.  Even the world governments and politicians seemingly are hinting to a one world amalgamated government.  We can certainly see the rise of the Beast and his government.  Furthermore, we can see the technology leaning towards a universal mark controlling the free trade.  However, there is one aspect of the Beast's takeover that many are not as focused on.  We are beginning to see the preeminence and proliferation of a one world religious system.  It is the whore of Revelation--the man can do it without God religious system--that will dominate in the last days.  It is the rise of the False Prophet!


The False Prophet, the other beast, will lead men and women to worship the anti-Christ and ultimately Satan.  He has the power of a lamb--a meek religious leader.  He also has the mouth of a dragon--always an emblem of the devil.  He will lead men from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and join them to one last great heresy that will destroy the souls of millions.  Like all that is of deception, his teaching will make sense, it will appear right, many will assure that it is true and right, and ,sadly, it will be backed by false miracles.  Many will be deceived.  Will you?


His task is not an easy one.  He will need to join atheists and agnostics together with Islam, Hinduism, reprobate Christianity and a host of myths, legends, and false religions and ideologies.  If you look hard, you can see that happening now.  Look at this article.

Here are a few quotes from the article.  "Representatives of Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, B'hai, Mormon, Sikh, Vedic Druid and Muslim beliefs read scriptures from the great religious texts - including six verses from the Quran calling for all faiths to live in harmony."  Peace, harmony, love--such attractive words.  However, the scripture is very clear. There is no love outside of the cross of Christ.  Peace is a gift of the presence of the Holy Spirit!  Only Jesus Christ can ever bring peace and harmony as He is the Prince of Peace!  There is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ!!!!!

Indeed, blessed are the peacemakers," said Haq, who read a prayer from St. Francis of Assisi: "Oh God make me an instrument of your peace ... Where there is hatred let me sow love!""  Now, I do not agree with the pastor's method of addressing the lies of Islam, but reactions to his plan to burn the Quran will give us a foretaste of the absolute tyranny of the upcoming system.  Under the guise of "let's all get along"  there will be a call to crush any and all beliefs that are exclusive (like the teachings of Jesus where He clearly says that He is the one and only way to heaven!).  Those not in line with this syncretic system will be humiliated publicly and eventually killed for their "rebellion" to the established spiritual authority.  We will have much, much more to say on this later.  God Bless you and pray daily for discernment! (...And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.)

Back To The Altar

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"  
1 Peter 4:17


Which church with an epistle named after it was in the most wretched city?  Without a doubt it was the letter to the church in Corinth. This city was a very corrupt seaside trade center with every imaginable sin and vice.  The local brothel was also a pagan temple with over 1000 male and female prostitutes.  (This is what Paul is addressing in 1 Corinthinans 6:12-20--can you imagine?)  No wonder Paul took the time to write, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."  1 Corinthians 6:9-11  The stress here is that some of the Corinthians used to live like this but Paul didn't want them to think that it was suddenly acceptable to live in outright sin.


Paul exhorted and rebuked this single church more than any other that we know of.  That is not to say he did not give negative comments to the others; however, the church at Corinth had so many problems that there was little to praise in them.  They were gifted, but they used their gifts to gain notoriety for themselves and not Christ. They had the best preachers preach in their pulpit, but they did not hear the message.  They were too busy comparing the preachers as if they were entertainers. They did not hear what the Spirit of the Lord wanted them to understand.  They were proud of their ability to accept the most sinful in their ranks, but they did not disciple and encourage them to accept the power of Christ to save and deliver from sin.  Instead, they left the new converts to wallow in sin while sending the world a confusing message.  This church had so many problems that it would take the rest of this post to list them all. The underlying single sin that caused all of their problems was division.  This church lacked unity and fostered a divisive spirit in a sinful community that was equally divided.  They let the community change them rather than live as over-comers changing the community.  Sound familiar?  


Jesus said, "And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand."  Mark 3:25.  (Huh!  I wonder if that is why this church no longer exists?)  Paul left this church a stunning example of how to overcome division.  It was to set self aside and place the Gospel of Jesus Christ above any and all competitors!  Paul taught them to begin with judging self through the direction of the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit.  they had to allow God to direct this because a self exam without God's eyes might result in an, "I'm OK", when the truth is that things are far from OK. (The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel. Proverbs 12:15.   Every man's way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.  Proverbs 21:2) This Spirit/Word examination was to assist them in conforming to the image of Christ. Then they could allow the changes that God had poured out in their lives to affect others. His easy formula reminds me of a chorus we used to sing as children, "Put Jesus first, and Others second, and put Yourself at the end of the line, and you will find true joy and happiness through J-O-Y."  Jesus-Others-Yourelf!  


Take a look, briefly, at Paul's example. Most of this comes from 1 Corinthians 9 if you would like to read it.  Paul had the right to be married, but he set it aside for the work of Christ.  He had the right to be paid by the Corinthian church, but since it was a money first society he did not want them to be suspect of his work.  Therefore, he worked a job as a witness to them.  He did not demand the respect of being an apostle among them even though he had started the church by God's guidance.  He was willing to fore go eating meat lest it offend a weaker  brother.  He put them above himself.


The only cure to heal division is to put self last.  It is to reverse the little song as a means of repentance.  Crucify self and its lusts.  Prefer my brothers and sisters while overlooking their failures.  Put Jesus back at the helm of my life.  After we do this personally then we move to the corporate church.  We repent of anything that has caused us to be divisive and we covenant with Christ afresh and anew.  We allow Jesus to lead his church and not follow fleshly opinions.  We put the Word back as the chief source of faith and practice in the church.  When we judge ourselves first as the body of Christ, then we will be the needed witness to a divided world. Peter understood the importance of this concept in the opening verse.  If we are all messed up fighting one another while living a duplicitous Christian life, thousands we could have reached will be judged as lost because we spent to much time not sharing the only prescription for salvation.

Indicators Of A Healthy Relationship With Christ

Here is an article that I found under resources on the website http://praycog.org/ that I loved and thought I would share.  It was written by Doug Small and it is thought provoking.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

INDICATORS OF A HEALTHY PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST
Here are some indicators of a personal relationship with Christ:

  1. You talk with Him daily. You pray. You live in his presence.
  2. You are conscious of His presence and your conscious desire to please him, to do his will. (II Corinthians 5:9; John 8:29) He rarely leaves your mind. You are preoccupied with Him. You are “walking in the Spirit.”
  3. You are in love! You are not merely doing religious things, keeping traditions, living by rules, honoring religious customs. No, you are in love! You know God is real. And you would do anything for Him.
  4. You delight in the Lord, and therefore you embrace disciplines and duties that are not always delightful. You do so, out of love. “If you love me, keep my commandments!” In the Old Testament, duty demanded that one keep the law. In the New Testament, love constraints us to do right. Our motivation has changed. Holiness, the end result has not changed.
  5. You want to serve. You are ready to be a bond-slave. Prayer makes us available. Prayer is the intentional and daily check-in experience. In prayer, we punch the divine clock and notify God that we are on-duty and ready to serve.
  6. There is an overflow of your life, outward to others. The evidence of the inward love for God is read by others. They see it. You can’t hide it. Prayer explodes outwardly in some manifestation of God’s glory. His presence marks a life. This is “the glory!” How can you be silent? The love of God is shed abroad in your heart.
  7. The speech of an overflowing Christian is marked by thanksgiving and praise. The inner flood spills out onto others around you. They are the benefactors of our satisfied hearts. The inner happiness becomes a river of joy tasted by others.
